From the perspective of the components of a CNC lathe, the transmission system is the key component for the operation of the entire lathe. It can transmit the power generated by the power system to any direction and anywhere through its own transmission method, and can also control the size and speed of the power. Today, our CNC lathe manufacturer will explain the five common transmission systems of CNC lathes.
1. Belt transmission: By using friction transmission to remove synchronous toothed belts, it has a simple structure, convenient manufacturing, low cost, and can provide overload protection when slipping during overload. The disadvantage of belt transmission is sliding, which cannot be used when the correct gear ratio is required.
2. Gear transmission: With a simple and compact structure, it can transmit large torque and adapt to changes in speed and load, making it more widely used. Its disadvantage is that the linear speed cannot be too high. Gear transmission is currently one of the most commonly used transmission methods in machine tools.
3. Worm gear: The worm is an active component that transmits its rotation to the worm gear. This transmission method can only rotate the worm gear, otherwise it is impossible.
4. Rack and pinion: The gear rotates and the rack moves in a straight line accordingly.
5. Spiral transmission: a mechanical transmission that utilizes the meshing of screws and nuts to transmit power and motion. Mainly used to convert rotational motion into linear motion and torque into thrust.
The above is an introduction to the five common transmission systems of CNC lathes. I hope the above description can be helpful for everyone when using CNC lathes in the future.
